Happy Tuesday, everybody! What a loaded Tuesday we have for today. This week marks not only the release of Mad Max : Fury Road on Blu-Ray, but also the new Mad Max game (which I’ll admit I totally forgot released today until a few days ago), Hideo Kojima’s Metal Gear Solid V : The Phantom Pain, and the PlayStation Plus freebies for the month. Without further ado, let’s break down this week’s haul :
First up is Mad Max : Fury Road on Blu-Ray. Personally, I saw this movie twice in the theaters, and it was one of my favorites this year. It’s a really special film. I attempted to grab the Best Buy exclusive Steelbook version, but it was sold out everywhere. Currently, I’m pressing “Refresh” to see if it pops up back in stock. If not, I’ll have to resort to buying it from one of the eBay scalpers for twice the price, because the Steelbook is incredible. I’ll keep you posted. For now, here’s some pictures of the 3D version of the film :
UPDATE : Here are some pictures of the superior Best Buy exclusive Steelbook for Fury Road :
Up next is the new Mad Max game. What perfect sense it makes to release both the Mad Max film and game on the same date! What a lovely day! I’ve been watching a ton of gameplay for Mad Max lately, and it looks great. It fits very well in the Mad Max universe. The game is very heavily influenced by the films, but they are separate. Here’s some pictures :
Next up is Hideo Kojima’s conclusion to the stellar Metal Gear Solid saga. Did I mention this is a Hideo Kojima game? Because it is; even if Konami have become huge douches and removed his name from the cover of the game. Fans have been waiting for this game for a long time. I can’t wait to marathon through the entire series. In fact, I’ve only played up to Metal Gear Solid 4, so I have some work to do!
Finally, we have the PlayStation Plus freebies for September. A great batch of games here. Plus has been on a roll since as long as I can remember. I can’t wait to try out these indies!
That’s all for this week’s haul! If I post anything later, it’ll be the Max Mad Steelbook (if I manage to snag one!). I’m off to watch Fury Road and work on the Platinum for Until Dawn. Look out for my review of Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture soon! Until next time!
